Olfactory Detection Port ODP

Olfactory detection of GC fractions, simultaneously with GC or MS detector(s), installed with a fixed split between the detectors.

The ODP allows the sensing of compounds by the human nose as they elute from the gas chromatograph. The effluent is split as it leaves the column and arrives simultaneously at the nose and at the detector, giving additional information on compounds which are responsible for specific odors. This system is essential in laboratories with aroma/odor issues.

ODP provides a heated mixing chamber where humidified make-up gas and column effluent is mixed. This eliminates drying of the mucous membranes in the nose
